GEOLOGICAL POINTS OF INTEREST TAHAMÍ GEOPARK PROJECT

THE HIGHLANDS

Research on the topographic evolution of the Antioquia department identifies hilly plateaus located between 200 and 3,200 meters above sea level, formed from ancient erosion surfaces. These plateaus rose to varying altitudes due to tectonic events that occurred at different times. This theory indicates marked differences in the genesis and evolution of the Colombian plateaus, as well as in their altitudinal position.
