THE NUS RIVER.
In La Quiebra, in this narrow depression, the Nus River is born, which flows into the Magdalena River, and the Porcecito River, which joins the Porce River just in front of the Riogrande, in the same direction, which flows into the Cauca River basin.
In the context of geomorphological studies in Antioquia, Arias et al., specifically in the Quiebra area of Cisneros, offer a more detailed explanation of the possible connection between the Nus, Porcecito, and Riogrande rivers, based on the region's geomorphology. This explanation suggests that the Riogrande, Porcecito, and Nus rivers may have once been a single watercourse. Over time, geological movements and changes in the terrain could have divided this watercourse into the individual rivers we know today.
